Quick Prayer Request

Well things have been growing great around here with everyone adjusting and recovering, but that came to a halt last night.

Lynlee has come down with a nasty cold that has made its way into her lungs. And she has lost her voice. My dad asked me how could I know if she lost her voice? Well the only voice she has is her cry and at the moment she can't cry. When she tries it sounds exactly like one does when they loose their voice. It is pitiful and I hate seeing my sweet baby like that. She will be 2 weeks tomorrow and we are scheduled to go to the doctor in the morning. I am sure she is fine but since she is so little, I am a little concerned! Pray that she will be just fine and will get over this cold soon!

Then last night after Landon's football game, I started getting some stomach cramps that in a matter of 5 minutes led me to the most excruciating pain I have ever had. And I promise, I am not exaggerating one bit! I was hunched over crying from it and could not get any relief whatsoever. The pain was in my upper abdomin right below my rib cage and all around to my back. I wasn't concerned that something was wrong from the c-section but I called my doctor none the less. His guess is that I have gallstones. So I too am going in to the doctor in the morning for an ultrasound to see if I do indeed have gallstones. Not sure what my specific prayer request would be. I really do not want to have another surgery done to remove the stones or my gallbladder, which I think would be the only options to avoid another attack like the one last night. But at the same time, I would like to know exactly what was going on last night...not knowing is a little scary.

I am so ready to be recovered from pregnancy and the c-section and am ready to get everyone back into a routine that will include leaving the house for fun! :) So, please keep Lynlee and I in your prayers tomorrow. Will update when I know something!

Around Here...

...we've been adjusting to life as a family of five. I have to say the transition has been a whole lot easier than I had anticipated. Sweet Lynlee is such a good and easy baby. The only time I hear her cry is when she is hungry and even then, she gives us a good 5 minute warning with a lot of stirring and sucking on her hand. She loves to be cuddled and is a trooper with all the "help" from big brother and sister. When she is awake she is so peaceful with her blue eyes looking around and every now and then, I think she even gives us a smile. But I LOVE watching her sleep, she is such an angel and we are so glad God gave her to us!

As for the rest of the clan...life goes on. There has been no rest for the weary and whoever came up with the 6 weeks of resting and relaxing did NOT have other children. :) Landon has school every day and football three days a week, one of which is a game. So he is busy busy busy.

Photobucket

And I have never known Lucy not to be busy. She loves her little sister, but thankfully the newness has worn off a little. She is not quite as obsessed as she was the first few days. She started PDO a few weeks ago and that has helped me tremendously. And the fact that she loves it, makes it all the more better! She keeps us on our toes and thoroughly entertained all the time!

With all the hussle and bussle and my strict orders not to drive, I have needed a little help. My mom was here while I was in the hospital and for the first few days I was home from the hospital. I am not sure what I would have done without her help...especially with Lucy. She sure loves her Mimi!

My mom had to go out of town this week so Ashley's grandmother, Carolyn, came to take over. I am trying to take it as easy I can for 2 weeks, but that is so much easier said than done. With kids needing to get to and from all over town and a newborn to keep fed and clean, I am so grateful for her help. She stayed home with Lynlee while I was chauffering my kids all around, which again was a HUGE help not to have to lug that sweet girl in the heat all over Birmingham. Not driving for 2 weeks was just not going to work around here. The minute she got here, she took Landon to buy a game. The DSi gets on my very last nerve and usually Landon is only allowed to play it in the car, simply because he cannot function in any other way while playing. But since, Grammy gave it to him we made an exception on the rules, but we inisted he had to at least be outside while he played. It didn't make a bit of difference...he could not hear, talk, or socialize in any way while playing.

Photobucket

Thats alright though. Grammy and Landnon were roommates this week and did their socializing at night.

Carolyn is obsessed with laundry (I am NOT) so she has kept a steady pace with our laundry. She left this morning, but I can tell you that every piece of laundry in this house is clean, ironed, and hung! We always enjoy our visits with her and was sad to see her leave this morning. But not before a good game of UNO.

This has become her little tradition with Landon. And this morning, the whole family got in on the action!

Lynlee is Carolyn's fifth great grandchild and it was love at first sight!

Now off to put my feet up and watch a little football with Ash and Landon. Alabama just kicked off and Tennessee is playing Florida later tonite! As weird as it sounds, Roll Tide and Go Vols!

What a Week

Even with a planned c-section, the week was a whirlwind. Last weekend with only three days until Lynlee was set to make we finally decided to get prepared and got a million little (and big) things checked off of the list. After 9 long months and after 10 weeks of discomort the day finally arrived. On Wednesday, we made our way to the hospital and checked in and did all the paperwork and received the very much dreaded IV. If you get an IV started easily you have no idea how lucky you are. I am not so lucky and have veins that roll or blow...whatever that means. It took about 30 minutes and 5 sticks and way to much digging around to finally get it in. Anesethia finally was asked to come do the trick and they got it on their first try. About 30 minutes later I was being wheeled in the O.R. ready to go. Although, anesthesia was able to get my IV started, it took several tries to get my spinal going and I was blessed with an ugly big bruise on my back from it. But, finally I felt it or lacked feeling altogether and we were set. It wasn't long, maybe 10 minutes until we heard that beautiful cry and met Lynlee for the first time. She was a BIG girl, 8 lbs 12 oz and had a head full of black hair!!

After I was stitched back up we were wheeled back to the room and were greeted by the fan club! Big Brother was the first to hold her!

Here she is with her cousin's Hannah and Kit Kat

We had visitors every day including her Papa who came after work each afternoon and yet I don't have a single picture of them...boo.

I spent 3 nights in the hospital and was soooo ready to get home on Saturday. We woke up that morning and enjoyed our last few hours at St. Vincents. I guess since it was Saturday, the usual hussle and bussle was a lot more relaxed. Instead of being greeted by all the doctors for their rounds at the crack of dawn, it was more like 9:30. We got cleaned up and packed up then waited for our discharge papers. While we were waiting, we did a little photoshoot before leaving the hospital, here is my favorite...

Photobucket

Lynlee loved the car. She just gazed out the window and was lulled to sleep. I sat in the back with her and couldn't resist snapping away...she looked so pretty and peaceful, spitup and all! :)

Home Sweet Home

Photobucket

Landon and Lucy went to Auburn for the day to a cousin's birthday party, so Ash and I were able to adjust with Lynlee at home with just the three of us that day. But that was short lived. Landon and Lucy got home and it has been a whirlwind since. Landon is a HUGE help both to me and with Lucy. And Lucy LOVES her new sister. She wants to do everything, feed her, burp her, hold her, swing her, you name it. And she is very gentle with her, or as gentle as a 22 month old can be.

Photobucket

Landon being the sweet big brother he is, waits his turn.

Photobucket

So...so far so good. Lynlee is the sweetest little baby girl. She only crys when she's hungry, (which is every 3 hours on the dot) loves to be snuggled, but will settle for wherever she gets put, which if I'm not holding her, she is in the swing with Lucy swinging it...bless her heart! :) Would you be jealous to hear that her first night home, she only woke up once!? Well don't get to jealous, she made up for it the next night! :) Life is back in full swing with work, school, Mothers Day Out, football practice and games, bottoms to clean, and mouths to feed. Someone must not have gotten the memo that I am supposed to relax and take it easy for the next 6 weeks! Yeah right...who came up with that one!??? Ash and I are so fortunate for our family and friends who are going above and beyond with dinners and helping with the older 2 kids and making it as easy as they can to make sure I do rest and relax as much as I can. Thank you all so much...you have no idea how thankful we are! So, here I go back at it, adjusting to our new family of 5 and lovin on this kissy nose and mouth!

Here She is...

...Miss Lynlee Montiel! She made her arrival yesterday, 9/8/10 at 12:32pm weighing a very healthy 8 lbs 12oz and measuring 21".

Photobucket

She is perfect with all 10 fingers and 10 toes and has a headful of dark hair. She is beautiful and has already stolen my heart.

Photobucket

Landon got to miss school for her big debut and was a pro of course. I looked over and saw him attending to her...

Photobucket

...while everyone else was preoccupied with Miss Priss.

Photobucket

Lucy wasn't really sure what to think about her new sister and still isn't,but she seems excited at the idea of a real live babydoll!

Photobucket

I am having some issues with the camera card and laptop up at the hospital, but will post more pics and details of the day once I get home on Saturday. We are all happy and healthy and making the adjustment to being a family of 5!!!

Photobucket

Be back soon with more pics and details of the big day!
